Free UVA Student Tickets

All full-time UVA students are eligible to request free tickets to eligible UVA Arts events through the UVA Arts$ Program! Please note Free UVA Student Tickets are only available up until 24 hours before performance time.

Please note:

Free Arts$ tickets are limited to one complimentary ticket per student per eligible performance/event.

It is considered an Honor Code violation to reserve more than one Arts$ ticket for a single performance. Violators of this policy will be allowed a single warning from the Arts Box Office. A second violation will result in an Honor case being initiated with the UVA Honor Committee.

  • Free Arts$ tickets are limited to one complimentary ticket per student per eligible performance/event. You may reserve one Arts$ ticket for multiple performances/events, but no more than one per event. For example, you may reserve one Arts$ ticket for two different dates of the same event, but you may not reserve two Arts$ for the same date and same event.
  • Free Arts$ tickets are not available at the door of any event and must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance.
  • It is considered an Honor Code violation to give away a free Arts$ ticket to anyone that is not a currently enrolled, full-time, degree-seeking UVA student.
  • Not all events ticketed by the UVA Arts Box Office allow for free Arts$ tickets. More info below.
  • If you are unable to attend the performance, please return your Arts$ ticket using the Ticket Release form so that other patrons may enjoy the performance.

UVA Arts$ Program

Funded by a portion of each full-time UVA student’s activities fee, the UVA Arts$ program offers all full-time enrolled, degree-seeking UVA students one complimentary ticket per eligible performance/event. Eligible students include undergraduate students in any school; graduate students in any school, including Medical, Law, and Darden students; and all students enrolled full-time through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

UVA students can reserve a free ticket up until 24 hours before an event or when the allocation of complimentary tickets is exhausted. To redeem their free tickets, UVA students can log-in with their NetBadge credentials using the link above or present their valid student ID in-person at the Arts Box Office. After logging in with NetBadge at the link above, click on any event on our Upcoming Events calendar, then look for the free Arts$ ticket type to add to your cart and checkout. If the free Arts$ ticket type is not available for a certain event, then that event does not allow for free Arts$ tickets.

Free UVA Student Tickets can be reserved by phone if you are able to provide your First and Last Name and UVA Computing ID to verify your full-time student status.

Note: Free UVA student tickets are not available at the door of any event and cannot be exchanged for alternate dates. Free student tickets that are not picked up at least thirty minutes before an event will be released for sale to other patrons at the door.

Eligible Events

  • The Department of Drama produces four productions and two Dance concerts each academic year, and all performances offer free student tickets.
  • The Department of Music hosts over 100 events each year, and most performances offer free student tickets or do not require tickets at all for admission.
  • The Virginia Film Festival takes place annually each fall, and free student tickets are available for most screenings.

Please note not all UVA arts events offer free tickets to UVA Students.

Please inquire with the Box Office directly if you are unsure of a certain event’s Arts$ eligibility.

What if you can no longer use a Free UVA Student Ticket?

We encourage UVA students to release tickets they can no longer use at least 24 hours prior to an event so that the ticket can be resold. You can release your tickets easily by submitting our Ticket Release form!

Please make sure to return any tickets you have reserved but cannot use so that other patrons can enjoy the performance.

More Information on the UVA Arts$ Program

Free tickets reserved through the UVA Arts$ Program are intended to be used ONLY by the full-time UVA student who requested the ticket, and as such Arts$ tickets are non-transferable. UVA students may be asked to present their ticket along with a valid UVA student ID to front-of-house staff for admission to events. It is considered an Honor Code violation for UVA students to give their Arts$ tickets to parents or any other person who is not a UVA student.
