The purpose of C.R.A.V.E is to host an annual fashion show that serves as a creative outlet for students to showcase their talent and artistic abilities while also bringing the University and Charlottesville community together in the interest of fashion. C.R.A.V.E plays a vital role at the University for bringing together current and prospective minority students, as we strongly promote diversity at the University. All proceeds of the fashion show benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Charlottesville.
More About C.R.A.V.E.:
C.R.A.V.E. is a student run organization that was founded at the University of Virginia to continue the tradition of the Annual Spring Fling Fashion Show. We aim to establish a community where fashion is represented through a creative and edgy manner.
Our annual fashion show serves as a creative outlet for students to showcase their talents on the runway. We give aspiring artists, such as photographers, filmmakers, graphic designers, and designers, a chance to display their work in ways that tremendously support the fashion show. The show also brings University and Charlottesville communities together in the interest of fashion.
Additionally, C.R.A.V.E. strives to support diversity at UVA. The fashion show is always held during Spring Fling weekend. Organized by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and is the largest, this is the most anticipated weekend for African-American students interested in coming to UVA and for those currently attending the University. This weekend plays a vital role in the recruitment of minority students to UVA. As a keystone event of the weekend, our fashion show is aimed to entertain and entice these students to attend the University by demonstrating what student life is like at U.Va. Each year, all proceeds of the fashion show benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Virginia.
