Indian Classical Night 2022

Indian Classical Night 2022 will feature instrumental, dance, and vocal genres of Indian classical music! Indian snacks will be provided!!

SPICMACAY at UVA is excited to announce Indian Classical Night 2022! Our annual Indian Classical Night (ICN 2022) is a showcase and celebration of Indian classical music and dance, presented by artists at UVA, to UVA and the general Charlottesville community. The event is open to the public and is free of cost. ICN was presented annually before the pandemic (from 2014 to 2019), and we are excited to be bringing it back this year!

The event will feature instrumental, dance, and vocal genres of Indian classical music. It will provide the audience with a unique opportunity to experience, among other styles, Carnatic and Hindustani (vocal), Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi (dance) and flute and sitar (instrumental) performances by undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and Charlottesville community members. Masks are required for audience members.

If you would like to volunteer or perform at ICN, please fill out this form by 3/25!

The event is made possible by these generous sponsors: the Office of the Provost and Vice-Provost for the Arts, UVA Student Council, Vice President for Student Affairs, the Division for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, International Studies Office, Alumni Association, the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures.
