Front Porch is proud to present the release of a new album of original songs by longtime Charlottesville staple, Thomas Gunn. If you’ve ever heard Thomas, you want more Thomas. Writing in a variety of styles that are equal parts philosophy, storytelling and musicianship, Thomas delivers a fusion of folk and country, underpinned by his mastery of the guitar and his distinctive voice, which has been compared to the likes of Guy Clark, Steve Goodman and Burl Ives. Thomas recently contributed to the album “All the Best….From Six Feet Away,” a Charlottesville Tribute to John Prine, produced by Jeff Sweatman. His main gig is with the Batesville-based band, The Pollocks, where he plays lead guitar and co-writes with the band’s founder, Jason Pollock of Seven Mary Three fame. This will be a rare solo show -- Thomas’s unusual worldview, combined with his unscripted humor, stunning guitar work and the poignancy of his lyrics, will leave an endearing and enduring mark on your evening.
