COMMUNITY EVENT • "Teeny Tiny Trifecta 6"
Second Street Gallery is pleased to present Teeny Tiny Trifecta 6, our sixth annual group exhibition and fundraiser. This exhibition kicks off our 50th exhibition season. All artwork will be priced at $100, so this is a great opportunity for collectors of all budgets to own a work of art by some of their favorite artists.
Preview all artworks through our online store HERE.
The exhibition will kick off with a ticketed VIP Party & Season 50 Launch Party on Thursday, August 31 from 5-8PM. The event will offer collectors a first look at this year’s exhibition and the opportunity to buy their favorite works before the exhibition opens to the public.
This year’s exhibition includes 160 artists, primarily from Virginia and the surrounding region, representing diverse styles, techniques, and mediums. Inspired by both Cabinets of Curiosities as well as the Paris Salons of the 19th Century, the exhibition aims to showcase a wide range of talented while providing an accessible introduction to contemporary art collecting. Each included artist will have three artworks on display, each measuring 9 x 9 inches or smaller, in a range of styles, techniques, and media. Submissions were open to all, with preference given to local Charlottesville or Virginia artists. Learn more about the exhibition HERE.
Along with Executive Director & Chief Curator Kristen Chiacchia, this year’s submissions were selected by a panel of 5 guest jurors from the Charlottesville community: Benita Mayo, Adrienne Oliver, Jay Simple, Darryl Smith and Hagan Tampellini.
This year’s participants will have the opportunity to be nominated for a special award: The Curator’s Choice prize, accompanied by a monetary stipend and a two-person exhibition in the Dové Gallery September 6-27, 2024.
This exhibition is generously sponsored by Gardy Bloemers & Nick Duke Sr., The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
