GobbleGanza! Food Drive and Live Concert
Celebrate the season with great music, good vibes, and giving back at GobbleGanza, a food drive and live concert brought to you by the talented students of the Creative Strategies for Indie Artists course at the University of Virginia’s Music Department, in collaboration with WTJU Radio!
The members of Creative Strategies for Indie Artists write: "We would love to see you at the show. We would jump for joy if you showed up with friends. We would do cartwheels if you donated food, which Visible Records will collect and store in their free fridge and pantry on site. Please follow their guidelines here: https://www.visible-records.com/freefridge"
An evening of live performances featuring:
Brian Tafazoli, UVA fourth year, guitarist, and vocalist
Matthew Mozingo, Harrisonburg singer-songwriter
Richelle Claiborne, Charlottesville’s own, joined by Ivan Orr on keys and JoVia Armstrong on cajón
This concert is more than just an evening of great music—it’s a showcase of student creativity and innovation. Produced by UVA students in the Creative Strategies for Indie Artists course, the event is a hands-on, real-world project that equips emerging artists with the skills and strategies to thrive in today’s music industry. From planning to performance, this is a celebration of their hard work and passion.
This event is produced in partnership with WTJU Radio, a cornerstone of Charlottesville’s music and culture scene for over 65 years. WTJU has long championed community radio while supporting UVA’s mission of education, culture, and connection. Their involvement ensures a professional and memorable experience while reinforcing the bond between UVA and the wider Charlottesville community.
Please join us—and bring your friends, too! Even better, bring a donation for Visible Records’ free fridge and pantry. Your generosity will go directly toward supporting local families. Check out the donation guidelines here. Together, we can make this holiday season about music, community, and making a difference!
Special thanks to Alex Christie from UVA’s Composition and Computer Technologies program for providing sound and to WTJU for supporting our students.
