COMMUNITY EVENT • The UVA Ceramic Show at CityClay

Come Celebrate with the UVA Clay Club at CityClay!!

The UVA Clay Club was founded in the fall of 2011 by students from the School of Architecture who partnered with CityClay to find a space where they could throw, hand-build, and sculpt. They joined for the sheer joy of the creative process, to build upon skills learned in high school, and to collaborate alongside students from various disciplines.

For many, the studio provides a much-needed opportunity to decompress and take a break from the rigor of academic life. The Clay Club welcomes members of all skill levels—from beginners to those with a few years of experience—and attracts students from across the University. Members meet weekly for classes and engage with the Charlottesville community during Open Studio time.

The current exhibition of pottery by the UVA Clay Club showcases their work and honors those who, over the years, have passionately served as Club officers, ensuring the club's continued success. The exhibit will run from April 19 to May 4, with a reception scheduled for Thursday, April 24, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. While some pieces will be available for purchase, this event primarily serves as a celebration of artistic expression.
