The Dance Program of the Department of Drama at the University of Virginia presents its Fall Dance Concert on November 17 – 19 at 8:00 p.m. in the Culbreth Theatre. This fall’s concert will feature the works of faculty, students, and guest choreographer Julia A. Vessey for an evening of performance that explores multiple perspectives and themes through the medium of dance.
It’s no secret that many people affiliated with the University of Virginia have behind-the-scenes roles in the annual Virginia Film Festival. It is a UVA-sponsored program, after all. This year’s festival, which begins Wednesday and runs through Sunday, features several directorial debuts and films made by UVA alumni, faculty and staff. The alumni credit their educations at the University for much of their successes in the film industry. More than 50 faculty members are participating in events as moderators and panelists, with almost all film screenings followed by discussions.

After two years of limitations due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Virginia Film Festival is once again returning to Charlottesville to celebrate its 35th anniversary and provide local movie-goers a glimpse into what is currently happening in the world of cinema.
This weekend, third-year College student Hyebin Lee and second-year College students John Barnes and Jade Devriendt teamed up to participate in Adrenaline, an annual event that challenges Charlottesville filmmakers to produce a three- to five-minute short film over the course of 72 hours.
